Toil & Foil (2017) is a site specific set of performative photographs taken at Island Lake Conservation Area in Orangeville, Ontario and at Forks of the Credit Creek in Caledon, Ontario. Taking a hand-made tin-foil witch hat to these rural landscapes creates an uncanny valley effect. The lonesome figure is multiplied, creating doppelgangers. The photographs play between the staged and unstaged, the real and fake, the humorous and the lonely.
